Willie Sugarcapps in Montgomery for Capri Benefit

Date: 5/28/2015
From: 7:30pm to

Capri Theatre - 1045 E. Fairview Avenue

This is a really good band.

So good, that the Alabama Roots Music Society is partnering with the Capri Theatre on Thursday, May 28, 2015 (the Thursday after Memorial Day) at 7:30 p.m.to present Willie Sugarcapps, the coastal supergroup comprised of nationally known Alabama musicians.

Tickets to Willie Sugarcapps at the Capri are on sale now, at the theatre (1045 E. Fairview Avenue, 334-262-4858) and online at http://www.williesugarcapps.brownpapertickets.com. General admission tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door. There are also a limited number of VIP tickets, which include preferred seating and a pre-concert reception with the band next door at Stonehenge Gallery, for $50. The concert is a benefit for the Capri.

We could tell you all about Willie Sugarcapps--they have become one of our favorite bands and their self-titled album was the 2013 Americana album of the year-- but instead why don’t you take a look at their website, www.williesugarcapps.com?

If your curiosity is piqued, you can also check out the websites of individual band members:

Will Kimbrough www.willkimbrough.com
Anthony Crawford www.sugarcanejane.com
Savana Lee Crawford www.sugarcanejane.com
Grayson Capps www.graysoncapps.com

The fifth member of the band, Corky Hughes, does not have a website. If he did, it would surely include this review of his performance at a fall 2014 Willie Sugarcapps concert at the Saenger Theatre in Mobile:

You already know about the Capri – the independent, non-profit, member-supported, neighborhood theatre that provides Montgomery and central Alabama with access to independent and foreign films, classic films, visiting filmmakers, summer children’s programs, speakers, concerts, and special events – but if you want additional information, check out the website, www.capritheatre.org.
